After months of work, the 15th edition of In The Palace International Film Festival has started! Following your first steps just after going into the entrance of the Queen Marie Palace in Balchik, you could find our Info Point where our staff will help you with all you need to join the activities and the film screenings.
Some of the Jury Members we welcomed today during the morning was the writer, filmmaker and researcher Faisal A. Qureshi, and the film historian, journalist and essayist, Manuela Cernat.
They discovered and enjoyed our Day Bar, in the path for the Stone Hall of the Palace, where anyone can chill and have some drinks while waiting for the film screenings.
To begin with we had the two first volumes of Documentary & Student Competition. At 15.00h in the Stone Hall, we saw the films En la Boca, Fedra, Nobody, Short Distance, Champions, REM, and Iron Hands. At 17.00h the proyected films were Road to Glory, Elisa, Milk, New Bronx, Education and Solo.
This is the first time that In The Palace is serving as a stepping stone for some films to be selected for the Oscar’s Awards, and at 19.00h we started with the volume I of the Oscar Qualification Contenders Competition, where we saw Fauve, Mermaids and Rhinos, Little Hands, A Thousands Kisses and Clothes.
From 22.00h, Dj Woo-d & Dj Oz from Radio Nula, Slovenia, brighten up the first party where all people is more than welcome to join us, near the Balchik’s beach.
